Stakeholders and residents of Keffi on Monday came out en masse to declare support for the governorship ambition of former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu in the 2027 elections in Nasarawa State.

The endorsement was made during a solidarity rally in Keffi, which attracted a large turnout of party faithful, community leaders, youths and women groups under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Contact and Mobilisation Team of the Adamu 2027 Movement, Isa Nathaniel, said the gathering reflected the collective decision of the people to support a candidate they believe has the capacity to lead the state.

“What we see here today is more than a rally; it is a revolution of hope. The sea of faces before me and the unshakable energy in Keffi all send one message that the people have decided,” he said.

Nathaniel stated that stakeholders in Keffi had resolved to back Adamu based on his track record and contributions to grassroots development.

“This gathering is a covenant. It is Keffi and Nasarawa State declaring, without apology, our total and irreversible support for retired Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, for Governor in 2027. His works are not in manifestos; they are visible in our communities.”

He noted that Adamu’s interventions in healthcare, youth empowerment and welfare support had made significant impacts across the state.

“His health outreach programmes have restored dignity to the sick and hope to the forgotten. His welfare packages have reached party members and ordinary citizens, while his grants to young business owners are creating opportunities for the next generation,” he added.

The APC chieftain also commended the administration of President Bola Tinubu, citing Federal Government’s projects in Nasarawa State as evidence of commitment to development.

“Through our engagements, we have seen the footprints of the APC-led Federal Government in our state. The North Central Development Commission in Lafia and the Nigerian Army Special Forces Headquarters in Doma are realities, not campaign promises,” he said.

He called on party members to sustain their support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He further praised the adoption of direct primary elections by the APC, describing it as a step towards strengthening internal democracy.

“This is power returning to the people. It means no more imposition and no more backroom deals. Only candidates with the support of the people will emerge,” he said, urging members to register and participate in the process.

He assured supporters that empowerment and welfare programmes would be sustained and expanded, while also calling for unity and peaceful coexistence across the state.

“Let us tolerate one another and guard the peace of this state. A divided house cannot stand, but a united Nasarawa is unstoppable,” he said.

Daily Sun reports that the rally featured chants of solidarity and inscriptions on handbills and flex banners from supporters, who reiterated their commitment to the Adamu 2027 governorship bid.
