Nasarawa sports commissioner attends NPL draw, confident in Nasarawa United’s return

Nasarawa’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Jafaru Ango attended the draw event for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League Season, expressing optimism for Nasarawa United’s swift return to the top-flight league

Daily Sun reports that the draw, held at Sandralia Hotel in Abuja Tuesday, saw Jafaru pick Abia Warriors FC for their opening match against Niger Tornadoes FC.

Commending the transparent process organized by the League, Jafaru expressed optimism about raising the League’s standards. He thanked NPL Board Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, for the opportunity to partake in the draw ceremony.

Addressing inquiries about Nasarawa United Football Club’s return to the elite domestic league, Jafaru expressed confidence in the team’s swift comeback. He mentioned plans to revitalize the team and implement strategies for their reinstatement.

Regarding the renovation of Lafia City Stadium, Jafaru assured the public that the government is diligently working to enhance the facility. He also affirmed that the Nasarawa State Contingent for the upcoming National Youth Games in Delta State would bring honour to the state.

Daily Sun reports that Jafaru’s motto for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is “Creativity and Excellence.” The 2023/24 Nigeria Premier League Season is set to begin on September 9th, 2023.
