Nasarawa State Police command has burst the hideout of the hoodlums in Akwanga, arrested 14 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and recovered weapons from them.
Commissioner of Police, Mr Shehu Umar Nadada, said: “I have ordered my officers to checkmate the hoodlums during and after this Ramadan fasting period. This is for the safety of members of the public.
“I warn all DPOs and Area Commanders to apply professionalism when carrying out their duties. We have deployed police operatives to different schools and communities to ensure their safety.
“Police operatives arrested seven suspected kidnappers terrorising the people. They made several attempts to kidnap along Lafia/Akwanga axis. The police tactical team arrested suspected robbers in Eggor. The police operatives recovered the victims’ money, bags and other valuables items.
“Intelligence officers arrested suspected cultists involved in armed robbery. We appreciate members of the public giving us information to fight the hoodlums.”
