Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi A Sule has expressed profound sorrow over the unexpected passing of key officers in the Nasarawa Agricultural Development Programme (NADP). Mr Emmanuel Alanana, Programme Manager, and Dr Rabiu Abdul, Director of Extension Services, both died recently. The state Vice Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Dr Samson Kyuni Chuga, has also passed away.

In a Government House press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ibrahim Addra, and sent to reporters on Tuesday, Governor Sule described the losses as a significant blow to the state. “Their deaths are painful and a big loss to the state,” he lamented.

The Governor visited the residence of the late Mr Alanana. Reflecting on his recent assignment with Mr Alanana in India, Governor Sule noted, “Alanana participated in all our meetings and engagements, providing expertise and valuable inputs in the discussions.” He praised the late Programme Manager as a “competent, dedicated officer and key figure in the administration’s latest efforts to boost agriculture in the state, particularly in the farms in Jangwa”.

Governor Sule also paid tribute to the late Dr Abdul, highlighting his commitment and contributions to agricultural development in Nasarawa. “The late Dr Rabiu Abdul was equally a committed officer who had contributed immensely to the growth of agricultural practices in our state,” Sule stated.

In addition to mourning the NADP officials, Governor Sule visited Akwanga to pay his respects to the family of the late Reverend Chuga. Describing Reverend Chuga as a “lover of peace”, the Governor acknowledged the clergyman’s relentless efforts towards fostering peace in the state.

Governor Sule extended his heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and communities of the deceased, praying for the repose of their souls.
