Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi A. Sule, has vehemently condemned the reported invasion of the residence of the former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, by suspected bandits in the late hours of Saturday, at Ola, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
A press release signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Petter Ahemba, yesterday, governor Sule described the incident as unfortunate and issued a directive to the police and other security agencies in the state, to spare no effort in bringing the criminals responsible for the invasion to justice.
“As a responsible government, the security of lives and property, as well as the general well-being of the citizens will continue to be the top priority of my administration.
“In response to the recent military offensive leading bandits to flee from other regions of the country, the state government has initiated a partnership with the top military command, the police, and other paramilitary agencies to ensure that these criminals find no refuge in Nasarawa State,” the governor assured.
Governor Sule issued a stern warning to criminal elements, regardless of their guise, to desist from their evil activities, as there will be no safe haven for them within the state.
The governor further extended his deepest sympathy to Maku over the unfortunate incident and to the injured security personnel who were on duty at the time of the invasion.
The Nasarawa State government has assured the public of its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens, and would continue to work tirelessly to ensure peace and prosperity throughout the state.
