The visit of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, to Nasarawa, last Saturday, was characterised by spontaneous demand by residents of the state who called on President Bola Tinubu to end criminalities, killings, and sycophancy in Nasarawa, while demanding justice on the governorship election result at the Appeal Court.
Residents, mostly women, who expressed pain over prevailing insecurity across the state, asked Ganduje to be democratic and manly enough to ensure the return of the allegedly stolen mandate in Nasarawa.
The women, who were carrying placard with various inscriptions in an interview with journalists, yesterday, explained that the visit of the APC national chairman to the state, to commission a 1.7km street and the remodelled VIP Lodge, was ridiculous, as insecurity remained the order of the day in the state.
The residents, who expressed their disappointment over alleged poor development of the state since Governor Abdullahi Sule took over from Almakura, described Sule’s achievement as a lip service with nothing to show.
Mrs. Fatima Adamu stated that the roads construction that governor Sule was celebrating and bringing the Vice President Kashim Shettima, the APC national chairman and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, to commission, put together, were not up to eight kilometres.
“Governor Sule is rather painting a picture showing that he has done nothing serious in areas of infrastructure. Bringing the vice president and the national chairman of his party to commission a less than 8km road is ridiculous, when other state governors are commissioning hundreds of kilometres of roads and other infrastructures.
“How can a vice president come to a state like Nasarawa to commission a 3.5km road and commending the governor for doing nothing to justify his about five years in office? We should not celebrate mediocrity”.
On the decamping of Senator Solomon Ewuga, residents who spoke with Daily Sun in Lafia and Karu said Senator Ewuga no longer has political value, but only looking for where he could eat.
David Adagazu, a youth leader in Karu, described Ewuga as a political businessman, who only swings to where he could take care of his stomach.
“How many people followed him to APC? All the people he contacted to follow him to APC declined, including some youths who are his ardent followers from his community.
The residents, therefore, call on President Bola Tinubu to address the prevailing insecurity that has plagued the state in recent times, leading to the reckless killings of citizens by bandits.
