Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen submitted a medical note to miss the first day of pre-season training with Napoli as he awaits the finalisation of his permanent transfer to Galatasaray.
Since the deal has not yet been officially completed, Osimhen remains a Napoli player.
The 26-year-old did not report for the first day of Napoli’s pre-season training under coach Antonio Conte.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, he provided a medical certificate to excuse himself from training.
Negotiations between Napoli and Galatasaray were expected to continue yesterday as both clubs work towards a resolution regarding the transfer.
The two teams are currently discussing the payment structure for Osimhen, despite Galatasaray agreeing to meet the €75 million release clause in the Nigerian international’s contract with Napoli.
Recent updates indicate that Napoli is holding out for an upfront payment of €55 million, with the remaining €20 million to be paid in installments.
In contrast, Galatasaray’s latest offer is reportedly €40 million with €35 million to be paid in installments.
