The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the gallantry and swift response of the troops of Operation Hadin Kai for the successful rescue of some abducted National Examinations Council (NECO) candidates in Lassa, Borno State.
This is contained in a statement signed by National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NANS, Comrade David Obidah.
Earlier, Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni said troops rescued 10 candidates and teachers abducted by suspected ISWAP terrorists during an attack on a secondary school in Borno on Monday.
The military spokesman said the rescue was made possible after the Theatre Command immediately deployed ground troops, supported by strike aircraft and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, to launch a coordinated search-and-rescue operation
Reacting, NANS said, “This remarkable operation demonstrates the dedication, bravery, and professionalism of our security forces in safeguarding the lives and aspirations of Nigerian students, particularly those pursuing education in challenging environments.
“NANS appreciates the sacrifices of the men and women of the Armed Forces who continue to work tirelessly to protect communities and restore confidence in the nation’s security architecture.”
