NANS inaugurates transition committee

Ahead of the upcoming inauguration, the National Association of Nigerian Students led by President Pedro Obi, alongside the outgoing leadership led by Usman Barambu has inaugurated a transition committee.

A statement which a copy of was sent to our correspondent on Tuesday was jointly signed by the NANS president, Pedro Obi, outgoing NANS president, Usman Barambu, the outgoing NANS Senate President, Attah Felix, and the association secretary-general, Kings Tamarapreye.

The committee which is headed by the Chairman and the outgoing NANS secretary general, Usman Kankia includes the transition Deputy Chairman, Tari Ekadi and Secretary, Abdulrazaq Imam.

According to the statement, the committee are expecting to come up with a well-detailed plan for executing a befitting and colourful inauguration ceremony.

The statement partly read, “ The terms of reference of the committee were to come up with a well-detailed plan of executing a befitting and colourful inauguration ceremony, to generate funds for the success of the inauguration ceremony, and to execute any other directives as the President may deem fit.”

Speaking with the NANS president he said there is the specific date for the inauguration has not been picked but the committee would sit and conclude on the event date.

“The Committee will seat and bring out the Programme of events, Obi said.”
