The initiator and convener of one of the Ilorin biggest social events, Naija Facecap Party, Olona Shakiru, popularly known as MC Peperenpe, has said that the annual event which began in 2017 was birthed as a way of celebrating friendship, style, and fashion among facecap lovers in Nigeria and the world at large.
Mr Olona Shakiru said this in Ilorin, Kwara State capital while briefing newsmen on this year’s edition scheduled to take place in December.
In his words: “The idea came because we realized facecap has become part of daily dress code to some people.
“Many cannot go out without their facecap on them. Many feel their dressing is never complete without their facecap on, so we feel there should be an event to celebrate facecap lovers and friends, having so many people at an event with their facecap on them”, he said.
On varieties on every edition of the show, MC Peperenpe said that the event annually features music, comedy, dance, talent display, networking, charity while celebrating the essence of friendship, style and fashion.
He disclosed that every edition of the event usually saw participants from different parts of the country trooping in to relax, enjoy and network with other meaningful Nigerians.
“There are people that travel down from different states to be part of the show, many have asked us to bring it to Other States and Cities like Lagos State, Abuja and Ibadan. Previous editions featured Nigerian Music artists with the like of Martisfeelz, Kabex and the likes”, the entertainer disclosed.
On what constitute mission of the yearly event, the Kwara-based Master of Ceremonies maintained, “the Naija Facecap Party is the biggest, event in kwara state. Since its inception, we have been dedicated to promoting rich cultural heritage, Talents, Social life, Charity outreach, fashion and lifestyle.”
