The organisers of the Abuja International Motor Fair are making good on their pledge to package a special silver jubilee edition that would be exciting and gainful for industry stakeholders, exhibitors and the visitors.
The fair is scheduled to be held from Tuesday, November 18, to Friday, November 21, 2025.
This was contained in a press statement over the weekend in which the committee confirmed that the 25th edition would be held at the more befitting Eagle Square in Abuja, but that the various exhibitors would be occupying more conducive covered stands instead of the traditional open-air displays.
The cheery news is coming at a time the lead agency in the nation’s auto sector – the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) – has restated its readiness to showcase, at the fair, the impressive achievements so far recorded under the transformative leadership of the current Director General, Mr. Oluwemimo Osanipin.
Beyond exhibitions, the presence of the NADDC and its DG is expected to draw policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders to discuss opportunities in vehicle assembly, electric mobility, and local content development.
Arrangements in top gear
The press statement issued on behalf of the Organising Committee by Mr. Paul Ugwuogene, disclosed that the milestone edition themed: “Driving the Future: Innovation, Commerce, and Mobility,” is designed to attract a wide spectrum of high-value decision-makers to the auto snow .
“Invitations have been extended to federal and state ministries of transport, works, and finance; all 774 local government areas; key parastatals and agencies; fleet operators; and private high net worth buyers.
Why covered stands
The committee explained the introduction of covered exhibitors’ stands, stating: “This major upgrade is designed to enhance visitor comfort, ensure uninterrupted displays regardless of weather conditions, and provide a world class platform befitting Nigeria’s leading motor industry showcase.
“For a quarter of a century, the Abuja Motor Fair has been Nigeria’s premier automotive showcase. This year, we are elevating the experience to match the importance of our audience.
“Moving to a fully covered, climate-controlled environment is a direct response to feedback from our esteemed exhibitors and visitors. It ensures a more professional, comfortable, and secure setting for conducting high-level business, showcasing the finest vehicles and technology without concern for the elements.
“The transition to a covered venue underscores the Fair’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for major commercial transactions.
“The event has long been the preferred platform for government bodies to assess and procure vehicles for official use, and for fleet managers to source large volumes of reliable vehicles for their operations.
“This upgrade to a covered arena is expected to significantly boost exhibitor participation and sales, providing an unparalleled opportunity for brands to connect directly with Nigeria’s most influential automotive buyers.
“The upgraded exhibition format will also enhance business-to-business and business-to-consumer interactions, allowing buyers to negotiate directly with manufacturers and distributors, while also enjoying interactive product demonstrations, live test drives, and exclusive fair-only discounts.”
Fleet buyers, high profile visitors coming
This year’s edition of the Abuja International Motor Fair is expected to attract very important visitors, including high net worth fleet managers and institutional buyers from both the public and private sectors.
Confirmed attendees, according to the organisers, include representatives of state governments, local government councils, federal and state ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), as well as corporate organisations, financial institutions, transport unions, and individual automobile enthusiasts.
Apart from decision makers, the fair will serve as a veritable meeting point for procurement officers, logistics experts, and mobility solution providers, all converging to explore the latest models, technologies, and mobility solutions on display by leading automakers and distributors.
Other attractions include daily product presentations, interactive sessions with financial and insurance firms, and entertainment segments aimed at creating a lively, business-friendly atmosphere.
According to the organisers, leading local and international automotive brands will display their latest models, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, buses, and cutting-edge electric vehicles, all within the spacious, well-appointed covered stands..
To hold at the venue will be a Public Procurement & Fleet Management Forum designed to address the specific vehicle procurement needs and challenges faced by the public and private sectors.

It was also learnt that the variety of exciting daily activities lined up for industry professionals and institutional buyers, as well as visitors, were designed to enhance the auto fair’s reputation as an event that is of benefit to everyone present
