Nottingham Forest’s manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, has urged caution regarding Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian forward sustained an injury during Forest’s FA Cup win against Exeter FC.
Santo confirmed that the team’s medical staff is attending to the powerful striker.
“He broke his nose, so he’s in pain and currently under the care of our medical team. We are ensuring all the proper protocols are followed,” Santo said in a press conference on Thursday.
“It’s a concussion, so we must proceed with great caution. He seems fine, he’s smiling, but still in pain. In this situation, we need to allow two or three days for him to settle, and then assess if he will be alright.”
