Two military planes crashed in separate incidents in central Myanmar on Tuesday, killing two pilots and a 10-year-old girl, officials said.
The military was not immediately available for comments while Deputy Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ye Htet, who confirmed the crashes said he was unable to give further comments as it was a matter for the military.
Two China-made F-7 planes used for training crashed in separate places in Minbu Township, 170 kilometres from the capital, Naypyitaw, due to bad weather, a military statement on the Commander-in-Chief’s website said.
The pilots were killed on impact while a 10-year-old girl sustained injuries after being hit by debris and was rushed to hospital, where she died.

The first plane crashed at 7:25 a.m. and the second one at 7:45 a.m., according to local media.
Photos shared on social media showed debris strewn over a large area.
A local lawmaker said the air force had asked him to check with a weather station for adverse conditions but reported that the weather was fair.
Military plane crashes are relatively common in Myanmar.
In June 2017, 122 military personnel and their families were killed when their plane crashed into the Andaman Sea.
