President of the United States, Donald Trump on Tuesday disclosed that his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, disapproves of his trademark dance moves he often performed at political rallies.

The lighthearted revelation came during a speech to House Republicans at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.

The First Lady was not present at the event.

Trump was speaking about his impersonations when he shared the anecdote.

“My wife hates when I do this,” Trump said, referring to both his mimicry and dancing.

“She’s a very classy person. She said, ‘It’s so unpresidential.'”

I said, “‘But I did become president.'”

Trump recounted a conversation with Melania, in which he defended the moves by noting their popularity among supporters.

“I said everybody wants me to dance,” he told the audience.

The president added that the First Lady responded skeptically, suggesting crowds were merely being polite.

In a particularly humorous exchange recalled by the president, Melania reportedly asked, “Could you imagine FDR dancing?” — a reference to 32nd US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who used a wheelchair due to polio.

Trump replied, “There’s a long history that perhaps she doesn’t know.”

Trump further revealed that his wife also did not like how he sometimes pretends to lift weights during his speeches to dramatize his efforts to prevent transgender people from competing in women’s weightlifting competitions.

“The weightlifting is terrible,” he quoted her as saying.

Despite the wife’s reservations, Trump has made the arm-pumping, fist-clenching dance a staple at his events, drawing enthusiastic responses from attendees.

Unfazed by the criticism, Trump repeated the weightlifting anecdote before concluding his speech and performed a brief version of the well-known dance before leaving the stage.
