Mouka, a major player in the sleep industry, has teamed up with the Lagos Food Bank, a prominent non-profit organization, to significantly enhance the lives of vulnerable children and mothers. This partnership aligns with the Lagos Food Bank’s Nutritious Meal Intervention for Vulnerable Mothers and Children (NUMEPLAN) programme, an initiative dedicated to improving the health and well-being of those most in need.

The Lagos Food Bank is deeply committed to combating hunger, reducing food waste, and addressing malnutrition through targeted efforts. Its NUMEPLAN program is particularly focused on ensuring that pregnant women and their infants receive the vital nutrients necessary during pregnancy and breastfeeding—a crucial time for both maternal and infant health.

Mouka has long been recognised for its strong tradition of corporate social responsibility. The company has consistently partnered with governmental bodies, NGOs, and allied organizations to bring comfort and relief to the less fortunate. This collaboration with the Lagos Food Bank is a continuation of Mouka’s dedication to making a positive impact on society, particularly in supporting children, who are central to the company’s social initiatives.

Yemisi Obadina, Senior Brand and Innovation Manager at Mouka, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of Nigerians. “At Mouka, our mission is to prioritize the comfort and health of Nigerians. From our diverse range of top-tier sleep products to our exceptional service, we are dedicated to adding comfort to lives across the country. This commitment extends beyond our paying customers to include the most vulnerable members of our society. One of our five CSR pillars focuses on providing comfort for children, and our partnership with the Lagos Food Bank is a testament to our belief that quality sleep and nutrition are fundamental to a child’s overall well-being—areas where Mouka can truly make a difference.”

In support of this initiative, Mouka has donated 50 of its Dreamtime mattresses, specifically designed with children in mind, to the Lagos Food Bank. The Dreamtime mattress features a water-resistant yet breathable cover that protects the foam core while keeping the child cool and comfortable throughout the night. The mattress is designed with the perfect foam density for children, ensuring they enjoy a restful sleep, and it comes in attractive designs suitable for both boys and girls.

This year, Mouka has continued to make a significant impact on society, including providing business grants to female entrepreneurs in collaboration with Herconomy, Nigeria’s first fintech company dedicated to empowering women through financial services, capacity building, and opportunities. Additionally, Mouka has worked alongside state governments nationwide to celebrate the first babies born in public hospitals, offering generous donations of its products and essential baby items.

Founded in 1959, Mouka is now a proud member of the Dolidol International Group, headquartered in Morocco. The company continues to innovate, with one of its latest offerings being the Wellbeing Regal Plus mattress, which features a pillow top and an orthopedic core designed to support the lower back, improve posture, and relieve pain—further solidifying Mouka’s position as a leader in providing sleep solutions that prioritize health and comfort.
