Gospel singer, Moses Abutu, has unveiled a new inspirational worship single titled Higher, describing it as a song of faith, reassurance, and spiritual conviction.

The singer said the single was born from a personal moment in a place of worship, where he received what he described as reassurance from the word of God in the middle of a difficult season.

According to him, the song is aimed at strengthening the faith of listeners who may be going through challenges and are searching for hope.

Abutu, who rendered a verse of the song in Idoma, said the message he hopes listeners take from the single is the power of God’s word to work through any situation, regardless of how hopeless it may appear.

“The message I am hoping for anyone who comes in contact with this song is that the word of God can work through your situation, if you put it to work, knowing that whatever you take to God, He always has a turnaround,” he said.

He added, “Everyone who listens to this song should learn to put pressure on the word of God, not on anything or anyone on the outside.”

Speaking on what Higher means to him personally, the singer described it as “an assurance from God,” adding that the title reflects his belief in possibilities beyond human limitations.

“For me, Higher is an assurance from God that if I can believe, all things are possible,” he said.

When asked about the scriptural inspiration behind the song, Abutu cited Psalm 119:130, which he said highlights the power of God’s word to bring light and understanding. He also referenced 1 Kings 3:7, noting how Solomon acknowledged his inadequacy to lead Israel and sought divine guidance.

According to him, he took his struggles to God in prayer at a time when “nothing seemed to be working,” and received what he described as a confession that later became the song Higher.
