The Board of Directors of Unilever Nigeria PLC has appointed Modupe Femi-Okunbanjo as an Executive Director, effective June 30, 2026.
Her appointment follows the resignation of Ibrahim Sodipe from the board, according to a regulatory filing sent to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and signed by Company Secretary Peter Dada. Femi-Okunbanjo currently serves as Unilever’s Financial Controller for Nigeria and Regional Controls Lead for West Africa. With more than 15 years of experience across the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and telecommunications sectors, she specializes in financial governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management. Prior to joining Unilever in 2018, she held key financial roles at UAC Plc, Helios Towers Nigeria, and Makasa Sun Nigeria Limited.
An alumnus of Lagos State University (B.Sc. Accounting) and Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Business School (MBA in Strategy), Femi-Okunbanjo is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
With this transition, the Unilever Nigeria Board now comprises:
