Liverpool forward, Mo Salah has signed a new deal extending his eight-season stay at the Merseyside club by two more seasons.

The club made the announcement in a statement published on its website on Friday morning.

The Egyptian has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists in just 45 appearances in all competitions this season.

He has also netted 27 times in 31 Premier League matches, becoming the league’s top scorer in the current campaign.

The 32-year-old expressed excitement over the contract extension.

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career,” he told LiverpoolfC.com.

Salah thanked the fans for their support for him and the club.

The forward has cemented his place as a Liverpool legend, scoring 243 goals in 394 appearances in all competitions, since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.
