Missing former APGA guber aspirant found dead in Enugu

Anambra Assembly poll: APGA wins 17 seats, LP 8, YPP 3, PDP 2

From Geoffrey Anyanwu, Enugu

It was another dark day in Enugu State, yesterday, as news broke that the missing former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State in the just concluded elections, Dons Ude, has been found dead.

Ude, a one-time State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was declared missing last Saturday after he was not picking his calls, which raised fears that he might have been abducted.

Though the police were yet to make an official statement on the incident, a close family source told newsmen that his lifeless body was found at the 9th-Mile area of Enugu State.

Noting that the deceased vehicle has also been recovered, the source said when the late Ude stopped answering his calls, his mobile phone was later found by the wall of the Ogui Police Station, confirming fears that he was in trouble. His wife, who tried without getting through the lines of her husband, was said to have later reported the matter at the police station.

Since then, the source said no contact was established between Ude’s abductors and the family, hence, nobody was sure if he was kidnapped, “But it’s certain that he is missing and nobody knows his whereabouts.”
