Nigerian fashionistas are almost in full swing with the Yuletide season. Expectedly, more and more creative expressions of couture are being put on display by outstanding fashion designers.

With pizzazz, design panache and creative elegance, Lagos-based womenswear couture brand, Mimmi Kasu, led by renowned designer, Mimi Ginika Chima, wowed the audience with the latest collection from the fashion house which had the theme, ‘A Piece of Me’ at a solo exhibition held at Victoria Island, Lagos and uniquely done on a runway built over water at the lagoon front.

The event, titled after the collection itself, attracted a notable audience comprising friends, family, fashion enthusiasts, and industry insiders.

Among the attendees was ex-Big Brother Housemate, Dorothy Bachor, who joined the gathering to witness the display of designs that skillfully blended innovation with classic elegance.

Mimmi Kasu’s collection showcased a diverse range of styles, featuring avant-garde creations and timeless pieces that left the audience in awe of the talent on display.

From vibrantly designed three-piece suits to cowl neck tops and dual-tone suit dresses, the collection was a fusion of workwear, playwear, loungewear, and casual wear, catering to the needs and pleasure of women who dare to be different.

Explaining the inspiration behind ‘A Piece of Me,’ Chima said: “The collection is a sequel to our past collection, ‘Style Hafe Must,’ transcending fashion to tell the story of a woman’s evolution into a stylish classic and a powerful leader. It symbolizes freedom, mirroring the collection’s essence and commanding silhouette to flowing fabric, capturing the dichotomy of a woman – both formidable and free-spirited.”
