The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has pledged to collaborate with other defence institutions to ensure effective service delivery and accurate pension administration for retired military personnel.
MPB Chairman, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Mikail Abdulraheem, gave this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd), at his office in Ship House, Abuja.
According to the chairman, the visit formed part of the board’s efforts to reinforce policy alignment and strengthen coordination in the administration of military pensions as well as the welfare of retired service personnel and their next of kin.
In a statement, MPB Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Aliyu Mohammed, said the chairman, while assuring the board’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and service excellence, described the visit as a strategic initiative to deepen institutional collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, align policies, and improve coordination on matters relating to the administration and welfare of military retirees and their next of kin.

He added that the visit underscored the board’s proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and its unwavering dedication to protecting the interests of those who have served the nation.
The chairman further assured the minister that the board remained focused on advancing reforms that prioritise the welfare and well-being of retired military personnel, in line with national social welfare objectives.
In response, the Minister of Defence welcomed the chairman to Ship House and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to the welfare of military personnel. He urged the board to diligently execute its mandate in order to meet the aspirations of retired service personnel.
