The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested three suspected local gun manufacturers and three suspected kidnappers in various locations of Plateau State.
Parading the suspects, on Tuesday, Commander of STF, Major General Rogers Nicholas, at the headquarters in Jos, said the gun manufacturers were arrested in Langtang South with deathly weapons, while suspected kidnappers were arrested in Mangu Local Government Areas of the state respectively.
General Rogers noted that the suspects were arrested after an intelligent gathering from the STF personnel and urged the public to avail the security operatives with useful information about criminal activities in the state.
He said the suspects confessed to the crime to have being manufacturing local weapons and selling to armed robbers, which they use to rob innocent persons of their valuables.
The commander added that STF operatives are place in strategic locations in the state to fight criminal activities and vowed to raid any criminal hide out or den of kidnappers in the state if identify.
He said the suspects would be handed over to appropriate authority for further investigation and would be subsequently handed over to the police for prosecution.
He said 8 illegal miners have been arrested in connection to the bloody clash in a mining camp in Gyoro village in Jos South local government area with13 rifles.
Gen. Nicholas also said those arrested included gang leader with military uniform, armorer, machine gun operator and a suspect wearing bullet proof jacket heading for reprisal attack.
