In a bid to raise the bar of entrepreneurship in Nigeria and tackle unemployment, Mrs. Olamidun Ogundoyin, a holder of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), has ventured into the ‘Suya’ business in Lagos and Ibadan.
Mrs. Ogundoyin began the new endeavour with just N20,000 worth of stock in 2018 in Ikate, Lekki, Lagos.
Since then, her company, Sooyah Bistro, has successfully opened nine branches in Lagos. The 10th branch has also been officially inaugurated in Ibadan, with the Oyo State Commissioner for Energy, Seun Ashamu, cutting the tape at 93 Moshood Abiola Way (Ring Road).
As the founder and CEO of Sooyah Bistro, Mrs. Ogundoyin said she aims to revolutionise the hygiene, packaging, and delivery of roasted meat for consumption. She expressed her excitement about bringing Sooyah Bistro’s unique brand of ethnic cuisine to the city.
“Our goal is to celebrate Nigerian food and culture nationwide and internationally.”
Sooyah Bistro started with a Suya Mallam and N20,000 worth of stock, but it has grown organically through the support of its loyal customers.
She added that whie the company would strive to maintain quality, Sooyah Bistro would also expand even further in Ibadan, taking advantage of the city’s business-friendly environment.
Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of state House of Assembly and husband of the Sooyah Bistro founder, acknowledged the hard work and dedication put into building the brand.
“Today, we celebrate not just the opening of a new branch but the realisation of a vision to bring people together through good food and warm hospitality.”
Commissioner for Energy in Oyo State, Seun Ashamu, also commended her entrepreneurial spirit commitment to providing excellent services. He encouraged the management of Sooyah Bistro to explore partnership opportunities with the state government.
