A man trapped inside an elevator in a three-storey building on Freeman Street, Zapass, Lagos Island, Lagos Island East LCDA has been rescued unhurt by operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The service confirmed the rescue in a statement signed by its Controller General, Margaret Adeseye on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the incident was reported to the Service at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
Adeseye said the first response crew from Ebute Elefun Fire Station arrived at the scene at 11:55 a.m. and immediately commenced rescue operations.
She added that the trapped occupant was successfully rescued from the elevator without sustaining any injuries.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the incident was caused by an accidental elevator malfunction. No casualty was recorded during the operation,” the statement said.
