A Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Akwanga has sentenced Gambo Adamu to death by hanging for the murder of Hassan Ahmed, whose organs were harvested in the Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

Delivering the judgment on Tuesday, Justice Mustapha Ramat found Adamu guilty of the crime and described his actions as heinous.

Speaking after the judgment, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, hailed the verdict as a victory for justice and a deterrent to criminal acts.

“This judgment serves as a warning to anyone contemplating such nefarious activities. The heinous nature of the crime justified the punishment,” Dr Magaji stated.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice in the state, emphasizing the importance of the judgment in curbing criminal tendencies.

The Attorney-General, since assuming office, has been lauded for his efforts in reforming the justice system, combating human rights violations, and tackling terrorism in Nasarawa State.

Residents and stakeholders have commended the conviction as a significant step towards upholding justice and maintaining law and order in the state.
