The Proprietor and Chairman of Nationwide League One team, LUBA Football Club, Afolabi Damilola Solomon, has expressed strong optimism about the future of the club, stating that the academy is strategically positioned to become one of Nigeria’s leading football development centres within the next two to three years.
Speaking on the club’s growth trajectory, Solomon noted that LUBA FC was established with a clear long-term vision to develop young talents, provide them with the right football education, and create a pathway to professional opportunities both locally and internationally.
According to him, the club’s recent performances in competitive youth tournaments are early indicators that the vision is gradually taking shape.
“LUBA FC was built beyond just competition. Our goal is to raise disciplined, technically sound players who can compete at the highest levels. In the next two to three years, we want LUBA FC to be recognised among the top football academies in Nigeria,” Solomon said.
Solomon revealed that the club is deliberately putting critical structures in place to ensure sustainability and steady progress. These include improved technical frameworks, enhanced coaching methodology, player welfare systems, and participation in reputable youth competitions designed to expose players to high-level football environments.
He added that LUBA FC’s philosophy centres on talent development, character building, and exposure, stressing that the academy is focused on long-term impact rather than short-term success.
“We are investing in the right processes from coaching to competition and player discipline. The idea is to build a system that will consistently produce quality footballers,” he explained.
LUBA FC has continued to gain attention following its impressive outings in the NLO, several youth championships, including its notable run in the Dare to Dream Tournament, where the club showcased resilience, tactical organisation, and a strong team identity.
The performances, according to football observers, underline the academy’s potential to evolve into a reliable talent hub for clubs, scouts, and football stakeholders.
Solomon believes that sustained participation in such platforms will accelerate the academy’s growth and provide players with the exposure needed to advance their careers.
As Nigerian football increasingly embraces structured youth development, LUBA FC aims to position itself as a model academy that blends grassroots passion with professional standards.
“We know the journey is demanding, but we are committed. With consistency and the right support, LUBA FC will stand among the best,” Solomon concluded.
With a clear roadmap, growing credibility, and an ambitious leadership, LUBA FC appears set for a steady rise in Nigeria’s football development landscape.
