The Life Theological Seminary (LTS) has graduated over 350 students from its various programmes, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as part of its 2025 Convocation and 70th Anniversary celebration held last weekend in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The event, tagged: “Pacesetters of 2025”, featured the presentation of diplomas and degrees to graduates across the seminary’s academic programmes, marking seven decades of impactful theological education and ministerial training.

In his address, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji, expressed delight over the milestone, describing the seminary’s 70-year journey as a testament to God’s faithfulness.

“Seventy years is not a joke. LTS has transformed from what it used to be, and we look forward to greater progress in the years ahead.”

Rev. Aboyeji encouraged the management to embrace modern teaching methods, enhance online learning, and invest in infrastructure development to meet contemporary standards. He also urged upcoming ministers to remain teachable and well-trained to become “established products” in the ministry.

Speaking at the ceremony, the newly appointed Provost of LTS, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Adejoro, expressed gratitude to God for his new role, describing it as an answer to prayer.

“My being the new provost is an answer to prayer, and I ask for divine direction,” he said.

He urged younger ministers to be steadfast and diligent in their studies, stressing that there is no shortcut to success in ministry.

“There is no soft life anywhere, with perseverance and training, the ministers will achieve greatness. ”

Rev. Adejoro also revealed that one of his immediate priorities as Provost is to upgrade the seminary’s media department and strengthen its online presence to align with modern educational trends.

Guest speaker and General Overseer of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, commended the seminary for its growth and urged young ministers to enroll in theological training to remain balanced and effective in ministry.

“I encourage young ministers to get trained so they can face the congregation and the world at large with the right teaching of God’s Word,” he said.

He cautioned against copying messages blindly from others, emphasizing the importance of personal study and scriptural depth.

“Teachers are communicators of truth and error, “You must research, learn, and dig deep into the Word so you can rightly divide the truth.”

Also speaking, Rev. Mrs. Olabisi Temilola Aboyeji, wife of the General Overseer, who received an honorary award at the event, expressed appreciation to the seminary for the recognition. She encouraged ministers’ wives to remain hopeful and supportive of their husbands and ministry work.

“I believe that the God who created the opportunity will back me up to do more,” she said. “All ministers’ wives should be hopeful and continue supporting their husbands and the church. God sees every contribution, and He will use anyone who gives themselves to Him, women are not left out.”

The 70th Anniversary Convocation of Life Theological Seminary was a celebration of legacy, growth, and renewed commitment to shaping the next generation of spiritual leaders.
