LP crisis: My camp not responsible for fresh litigation – Abure

Julius-Abure

By Lawrence Agbo

Factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has denied responsibility for the renewed wave of court crisis within the party, insisting that his camp is not behind the ongoing legal disputes.

Speaking on ARISE NEWS NIGHT, Abure stated that contrary to claims of re-litigating matters already decided by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, his faction only exercised its legal right by appealing a judgment delivered by the Federal High Court of Nigeria.

He accused Nanadi Usman of returning the matter to the lower court, stressing that it was not his leadership that reignited the legal battle.

“We only appealed against the judgment of the Federal High Court, and we are already preparing to go to the Supreme Court. Nigerians must know that the Labour Party under my leadership is not the trouble-makers of the party,” Abure said.

The party chairman maintained that his faction remains committed to resolving disputes through due process, noting that the next step in the legal trajectory is to approach the Supreme Court for a final determination.

The latest development deepens the internal crisis within the Labour Party (LP), with rival factions continuing to trade blame over the leadership tussle and multiple court actions.
