Lawan mourns ex-deputy chief of staff’s death

Former Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan has mourned the death of his former Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mohammed Mamman Karage.

Karage served as Lawan’s Deputy Chief of Staff when he held sway as President of the Senate between 2019 and 2023.

He died aged 65 on Friday night after undergoing a heart surgery at the Ahmadu Bello Teaching Hospital, Zaria.

Karage was buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday evening in Damaturu, Yobe State.

In a condolence message, Lawan described the late Karage as “an exceptional and dedicated public servant who served our nation with utmost commitment and integrity”.

“As my Deputy Chief of Staff, he played a significant role in the effective functioning of my office at the time.

“Beyond his professional achievements, Alh. Karage was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His warmth, kindness, and generousity touched the lives of countless individuals.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his wives, children, family, and loved ones during this time of mourning.

“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus,” Lawan said in the message signed by his Media Adviser, Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo.
