The Lagos State University (LASU), Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, said ‎the university’s International Secondary School would begin academic session in September.
Fagbohun told  journalists on Saturday that only best candidates would be enrolled into the school.
He said that the institution would maintain best practices and standard in terms of academics ‎and service delivery.
According to him, ‎a standing committee headed by Prof. Rafiu Okunneye, had been inaugurated to ensure smooth take-off of the school.
The vice-chancellor said that the university was also planning to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) ‎in line with best practices.
He said that Pre-Degree Studies (PDS), Foundational Programmes, part-time would be resuscitated and revitalised ‎to cater for those yearnings of academic pursuits in the institution.
“We are aggressively working on reviving the Open Distant Learning, while the Post-graduate school is being revitalised‎,’’ Fagbohun said. ‎
‎He said that government alone could not provide all the funds needed to sufficiently run the university.
“That is the reason the university was designing ways to generate revenue to complement subvention it receives from the state government,’’ he said. ‎(NAN)
