Igbo National Union Worldwide (INU-W) has called on Ndigbo residing in Lagos to return to the South East and establish their businesses since the Lagos State Government through its selective demolitions no longer want them in the state.
In a statement signed by Austin-Mary Ndukwu, Administrative Secretary of the group, INU-W recalled that at the wake of the demolitions, it gave the Lagos State Government what it described as a 30-day olive branch, to pacify the Igbo traders whose shops and properties were demolished.
INU-W regretted that at the expiration of the period, no meaningful peaceful dialogue and gratification had been extended to those affected by the illegal demolitions carried out by the Jide Sanwo-Olu administration in Lagos.

INU-W alerted that the ongoing demolitions and destructions, which it said were targeted at Ndigbo was a sign by the Yoruba nation to Igbo to vacate their region.
INU-W said to avoid a repeat of the 1966 pogrom and the 1993 June 12 attacks on Ndigbo Lagos, it had mapped out a phased exit and relocation of Igbo out of Lagos to the East and other safer territories.
“This phased withdrawal begins from December 2025 and runs through February 2027. Igbo National Union Worldwide will notify our people on how the process will be carried out through our people’s well organised state and town unions’ associations both here in Igbo land, Lagos State and those states in Nigeria where we feel our people are not safe,” the statement added.
It called on South East governors to create an enabling business environment that will accommodate those returning.
