The newly appointed Director of Support Groups for the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council of President Bola Tinubu, Hon. Silas Ali Agara, has pledged to rally Nigerians across the country and coordinate support groups towards securing victory for the President in the 2027 presidential election.
Agara, who is also the present Director-General of the NDE, in his acceptance statement on Sunday following his appointment, described the responsibility as a major honour and a call to duty, expressing appreciation to President Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the confidence reposed in him.
He said the appointment had placed on him the responsibility of mobilising, aligning and coordinating support groups across the country in support of the President’s re-election bid.
“It is with deep humility, immense gratitude, and an elevated sense of duty that I accept my appointment as Director to oversee the affairs of Support Groups for the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council of our leader, His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Agara said.
He described support groups as a critical component of political mobilisation, noting that they provide a direct link between political leadership and citizens at the grassroots.
“Support groups form the true heartbeat of any successful democratic movement. They represent the organic energy, grassroots devotion, and unyielding faith of millions of Nigerians who believe in the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.
Agara said his immediate priority would be to bring the various support groups together under a coordinated structure capable of effectively mobilising citizens ahead of the 2027 election.
“As we look toward 2027, my primary mandate will be to bridge every gap, harmonize our collective energy, ensure every voice is heard, and build a unified, formidable structure capable of delivering a decisive victory,” he stated.
