Nigerian musician Akinyode Gideon Akinkunmi, popularly known as Akinxcobar, has said his background and life experiences have influenced his personality and approach to music.
Akinxcobar, who started his music career in 2020, said growing up in a streetwise environment despite coming from a royal family exposed him to different experiences that have shaped his outlook.
He said his decision to pursue music was based on an inner conviction, although he admitted that he was not fully aware of the challenges that came with the profession when he started.
According to him, his experiences have also contributed to his resilience and ability to deal with difficult situations.
“I have a strong creative mind and the mental capacity to navigate difficult situations,” he said.
Akinxcobar said some of the issues reflected in his music include peace and environmental concerns, adding that his experiences have influenced the subjects he addresses through his work.
He also disclosed that he is working on an album titled The Rich Also Cries.
