No fewer than 500 residents of Ayobo-Ipaja area of Lagos State were fed during a special end-of-year community outreach facilitated by an NGO, Afaha Akpan Foundation, in partnership with the Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Comrade Mayowa Amuwa disclosed this in a Wednesday statement sent to Daily Sun.

He said the event, which took place at the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA Secretariat, was organised to spread joy, hope, and relief to less-privileged members of the community during the festive season.

“Beneficiaries received food items generously provided by the foundation in collaboration with the council,” the statement reads in part.

Speaking at the outreach, Chief Executive Officer of the Afaha Akpan Foundation, Mrs. Akpan, expressed deep appreciation to the council chairman for his partnership and support.

“We are delighted to collaborate with the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA to touch lives positively. This partnership has made our vision a reality, and we assure the council of our continued support in reaching the less privileged and advancing community development,” she stated.

In his response, the Council Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Agbaje highlighted key achievements of his administration, including notable strides in infrastructure development, social welfare initiatives, and security enhancement across the LCDA.

He commended the Afaha Akpan Foundation for its impactful humanitarian efforts and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of residents.

The council boss also used the opportunity to encourage eligible residents to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing the importance of civic participation in strengthening democracy.

Additionally, he emphasised environmental responsibility, urging residents to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal, properly manage their environment, and support approved Private Sector Participation (PSP) waste operators.

The well-attended event drew community leaders, political stakeholders, dignitaries, and residents, all of whom applauded the Afaha Akpan Foundation and the Hon. Agbaje-led administration for their dedication to grassroots development and people-oriented governance.
