To enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents, the Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA in Lagos State, Hon. Abiodun Lukmon Agbaje yesterday officially flagged off the construction of six key roads across the council.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony at the Council Secretariat, Agbaje emphasised the critical role of road infrastructure in community development.
The council chairman said, “Roads provide mobility, enhance access to businesses and markets, improve security, promote socio-economic growth, and make life easier for our people. This is why infrastructure remains one of our top priorities.”
He identified the six roads as Owonikoko Street (430 metres), Victor Street, off Fagbemi, Ipaja (88 metres), Igbogila Street, Ipaja (198 metres), Akinola Market Road, Ipaja (200.5 metres), Aduloju Street, Baruwa (250 metres), Koloba/Unity Road, Bada (400 metres) and Baale Road, Ayobo (107 metres).
Agbaje disclosed that the roads were carefully selected based on community needs, traffic volume, and their potential to boost local economic activity, assuring residents that the projects would be executed to the highest standards with durable surfacing, proper drainage systems, and sustainability as core considerations.

He also appealed to residents to support the contractors, cooperate with temporary diversions, and embrace a culture of maintenance to ensure the long-term value of these infrastructure investments.
The council chairman expressed deep appreciation to the Legislative Arm, party leaders, royal fathers, religious institutions, community stakeholders, and the media for their steadfast support and collaboration in advancing the LCDA’s development agenda.
Agbaje reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining developmental momentum and delivering the dividends of democracy:
