Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has charged the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 Corps members to be prepared to contribute their quota to the national development.
Governor Abdulrahman speaking through his Senior Special Adviser/ Counsellor Alhaji Sadu Salhudeen at the swearing-in ceremony at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area on Tuesday said, as citizens, their youthful vigour should be deployed to the development of the country.
In his words “ Onus rests on you to be physically, psychologically and socially ready to face rigours of nation building as full fledge Nigeria Adults, who are well imbued with the attributes of good citizenship and patriotism “
He urged the Corps members to justify the confidence trusted in them by the government “ I want you to justify the confidence reposed in you as leaders of this great nation by making patriotism, discipline, good conduct, honesty and hard work your watchwords throughout the duration of the course and thereafter.”
The governor further pledged continued support to the welfare and security of Corps members currently serving and newly deployed to the state for their National Service, adding that his administration has contributed immensely to youth development in the state.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator, NYSC Kwara, Mr Onifade Olaoluwa appreciated the governor for his support.
He appealed to the stakeholders to compliment the efforts of the government by making their presence felt on the camp by erecting structures and embarking on projects that would be beneficial to the Corp members and other camp participants.
He said that the NYSC is a people-oriented project and should enjoy the support of all stakeholders in the state.
