Kwara: 3 siblings suffocate to death in parked car

Three children of the same parents have been found dead inside a car parked in their compound at Zango area, Kulende quarters in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

The deceased, a boy and two girls Sunday found dead as a result of suffocation.

Their mother, Shade Silifat, reportedly, went out to buy indomine noodles for them to prepare for Monday morning school meals, and reportedly fainted as a result of the incident which occurred at No 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters in Ilorin metropolis.

The incident occurred at about 2p.m when the three children of the same parent locked themselves in the parked car borrowed by their father from his sister within the premises of their quarters.

Their mother, Shade, who discovered their foot wares outside the parked car, raised an alarm after forcing the doors of the car open.

It was gathered that the three children were then rushed to Olutayo Clinic, very close to their residence for medical attention.

The medical director, Dr Adeyemo, however, directed that they be taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, where they were confirmed dead.

The three siblings were later taken to a Muslim cemetery for burial according to Islamic rites.
