The Senate, on Tuesday, came hard on the Government of Kogi State, over a three-page advertorial it placed in some national dailies, wherein it claimed that the upper chamber does not have powers to void the ongoing recall of Senator Dino Melaye
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided over the day’s legislative business, said from the contents of the advertorial, it has become obvious that Kogi State is behind the recall exercise.
The Red Chamber, therefore, called on the Kogi State House of Assembly to investigate the source of the over N10 million spent on the advertorial and recover it. It also urged the State Government to use the funds in paying backlog of salaries owed state workers.
