Kebbi security agencies rescue 36 kidnapped victims in Dankowasagu

A combined security agencies, comprising of the Nigeria Police, Army and  local Vigilance groups have rescued 36 kidnapped victims from suspected bandits in Dankowasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Kebbi State Police   Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Nafiu Abubakar said, “in it’s sustained onslaught against banditry and other heinous crimes in the State, on  December 8, 2024, gunmen in their large numbers barricaded Mairairai/Bena road in Danko/Wasagu LGA and kidnapped 36 people who were coming back from their respective farms.

“On receipt of the report, a combined team of the Police, Army and vigilantes swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, overpowered them, forcing the bandits to escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds and successfully rescued all the 36  victims unhurt. They have since been reunited with their families.

  “In view of the above tremendous achievement recorded by the operatives,  Commissioner of Police, Kebbi state command,  Bello M. Sani commended their bravery, resilience and professionalism and urged them to be more committed in not  making Kebbi State a safe heaven for criminals.

  “The CP equally charged the police and other security agencies operating in the area to intensify synergy among them with a view to decisively dealing with the bandits and other unscrupulous elements”.
