Earlier, Senator Owan-Enoh reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to countrywide industrialisation, stressing that it remains a major driver of sustainable economic growth.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration placed a high premium on industrialisation, resulting in the Federal Executive Council’s approval of the National Industrial Policy after decades without a comprehensive national framework.
Launched in 2026, the policy aims to reposition Nigeria’s industrial sector and promote local manufacturing. A major objective is revitalising the automotive industry by creating an enabling environment for its long-term sustainability.
“The objective of this administration is to encourage greater local participation in vehicle assembly,” Enoh said.
He added that the ministry is implementing initiatives to build the required technical capacity.
