The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered a stolen white pick-up vehicle in the Federal Capital Territory and handed it over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, and made available to journalists on Tuesday.
According to the corps, the vehicle, a white pick-up with registration number YAB 677 XD, was recovered at about 3:00am on Sunday, August 23, 2026, by the Tow Truck Team of the RS7.1 FCT Sector Command along the expressway leading to Berger in the Wuye axis of Abuja.
The FRSC said original vehicle documents were found inside the vehicle, and personnel traced the owner through a telephone number contained in the documents.
The owner was subsequently informed of the recovery.
“In keeping with the Corps’ commitment to strategic inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing,” the statement said, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijjani Iliyasu, invited the FCT Police Command to take over the vehicle.
The vehicle was formally handed over on behalf of the Sector Commander by DCC Sabitu Abdu, Deputy Corps Commander (Operations), to CSP Nuhu Usman, who received it on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed commended the FCT Sector Command and the Tow Truck Team for their “alertness, professionalism and commitment to duty.”
He said the recovery was consistent with the corps’ renewed emphasis on “intelligence-led operations, inter-agency cooperation, technological integration and responsive road safety service delivery.”
Mohammed reiterated FRSC’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the police and other security agencies, and urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious vehicles, activities or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
The corps said the development demonstrates its role beyond conventional traffic management in supporting national security through surveillance and prompt response on highways.
