One of escaped Kebbi schoolgirls reunites with family

One of the 25 schoolgirls abducted from a school in Kebbi State has reportedly escaped and is safe, according to authorities on Tuesday.

The schoolgirls were kidnapped on Monday after gunmen stormed the premises of the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga town, Kebbi.

Hunters and other security forces are intensifying the search for the remaining missing students, as reported by AP News.

Musa Rabi Magaji, the school principal, confirmed that the student who escaped arrived home late on Monday. A second student also managed to flee immediately after the school invasion and was not abducted.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Magaji said, “They are safe and sound.”

Additionally, a video clip verified by AP captures the moment family members in the village surrounded the girls.
