The Kebbi State Government has said that it will partner with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to facilitate attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the state. Governor Nasir Idris stated this in a statement made available to newsmen through his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris in Birnin Kebbi. Idris quoted the state governor to have said this during a meeting with UNDP country Director, Muhammad Yahaya-Idris in Abuja.
“During the meeting, the governor sought the support and cooperation of the UNDP in its areas of mandate for the state to achieve the set goals.
“The governor observed that the plea was necessary in view of the important role of UNDP in the attainment of such mandates, hence the need for the collaboration.
“The essence of the partnership is to facilitate the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the state,” the governor’s spokesman said. While responding, the Country Director, Mr Muhammad Yahaya-Idris assured the governor that UNDP was ready to render assistance to Kebbi State to enable it achieve SDGs, especially the climatic change and inclusive economic growth.
