Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has affirmed her commitment to entrenching moral values among girls as future mothers.
She stated this while speaking in Birnin Kebbi at a public lecture on Girl Child Education organized by the National Union of Kebbi State Students Union, NUKESS, and flagging off Distribution of free exercise books to students across 21 local government areas.
Idris decried the growing trend of immorality and weakness in religion among girls, urging them to imbibe religious virtues for their recency and sanctity.
According to her, “girls must prioritize the pursuit of education, marriage is not a barrier to the acquisition of religious and western education by girls “,.
The wife of the Governor pledged to sponsor intelligent student girls for further studies, urging girls to be obedient to their parents at all times.
She commended the Islamic Clerics who delivered sermons at the preaching session, led by Sheikh Ibrahim Daurawa.
In his vote of thanks President of NUKESS, Comrade Isah Sulaiman Libata, thanked Governor Nasir Idris and his wife, Hajiya Zainab Nasare for their unflinching commitment to developing the education sector through various intervention programmes.
He therefore assured the wife of the governor that, Kebbi state students from basic, Secondary and tertiary level under his leadership are in full support of Kauran Gwandu led administration and NUKESS pledge to give its contribution without procrastination.
