A group, Igbo Youth Leaders and Stakeholders Assembly, yesterday, called for a political solution to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal issues, arguing that the recent judgement passed on him has opened room for President Bola Tinubu to grant him pardon.

Leader of the group, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, in a chat with reporters in Awka, Anambra State, described the judgement as a welcome development, saying that the President might now grant him a pardon since the matter had finally been decided by the court.

According to him, the continued detention of Kanu without trial over the years had kept some people in the South-East region in mental distress and belief that they were not regarded in Nigeria.
