The Kano State Police Command on Tuesday announced that it is profiling a list of 2,000 suspected drug dealers in the state in a bid to take decisive action against them.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bokori, disclosed this during a press briefing on the achievements of the command in the state during the first quarter of 2026.
“Using open–source intelligence, we have identified suspected drug dealers and are currently profiling them with a view to taking decisive action,” he stated.

“I am pleased to announce that we have received over 2,000 names of suspected drug dealers, with some names appearing multiple times. We are currently verifying these names and will take action soon,” he added.
He remarked that these achievements demonstrated the command’s commitment to leveraging technology and community support to combat crime.
According to him, other achievements include the containment of thuggery in the state, prevention of bandits’ infiltration, resolution of farmer–herder clashes through community-based engagements, and the arrest and prosecution of suspects involved in crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, thuggery, and cybercrime.
He expressed gratitude to the Kano State government for its support and cooperation, as well as to the people of the state for their prayers, encouragement, and support.
