The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with cattle theft in Bunza Local Government Area and recovered two cows suspected to have been stolen.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, “the arrest was made on 28th August 2026, following intelligence and community information. Abubakar Wakili and Usman Danbello were arrested in Bunza after residents alerted the police to the movement of the animals.

“The cows were believed to have been taken from Ganten Tudu in Bagudo Local Government Area and brought to Bunza Market for sale.
“The animals have since been handed over to the rightful owner, who identified them as his stolen cows. Investigation is ongoing to uncover more details and identify other persons connected with the crime.”
While reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar M. Hadejia, thanked members of the public for their support and urged everyone to continue sharing useful information with the police.
