The Kano State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Abdullahi Charanci, has died.
Commissioner of police in the state, Rabiu Yusuf, disclosed this on Saturday.
“It is confirmed that the state DSS Director is dead. We are now on our way to his home town, Charanci, Katsina state,” he said.
A source, who wished not to named, said the DSS director died in the early hours of Saturday following a brief illness.
“He was rushed to the hospital on Friday night but died in the early hours of today (Saturday),” he said
He was admitted at Aminu Kano teaching hospital, Kano, after complaining of stomach ache.
The news of his death threw the people of the state into a pensive mood.
Charanci died at the age of 56, leaving behind a wife and many children.
