Nine Kano State High Court Justices and four Sharia Court of Appeal Khadis were sworn into office on Friday in Kano.
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, speaking at the occasion, stressed the fact that justice is not a privilege for a few, but a right for all.
Abba urged them to live up to the oath of their office while appealing to them to be fair and just to all.
“It is a responsibility that demands not only legal expertise but also profound understanding, sympathy and commitment to preserving the fundamental principles upon which our legal system is built.
“It is essential that we create an enabling environment for our judiciary and the legal system which must be a creation of hope by ensuring that justice is not a privilege preserved for the few but a right accessible to all,” Governor Abba stated.
Those who took the oath of office as State High Court Justices include Fatima Adamu, Hauwa Lawal, Musa Ahmad, Musa Dahuru Muhammad andFarida Rabiu.Others are Aisha Mahmud, Halima Nasir, Adam Abdullahi and Haneef Sanusi Yusuf.
Similarly, those who took oath of office as Khadis of Sharia Appeal Courts are Muhammad A Khademi, Salisu Ahmad Isah, Isah Idris Sa’id and Muhammad Kani.
