Benue-born singer, Kadoon Karen Bem Bula, known professionally as Kadoon, is fast becoming one of the most talked-about young acts in Nigeria’s music scene following the viral success of her debut single, Go Low.

The 18-year-old Trap Records Entertainment artiste has captured widespread attention on TikTok, where the upbeat track has inspired thousands of user-generated videos and trending challenges that continue to push her into Afrobeats’ new-school spotlight.

Discovered while still a secondary school student, Kadoon’s earliest recordings were made on her mobile phone, with friends cheering her on. Her talent soon caught the eye of Trap Records founder, Akem Terver, also known as Boss Equation.

“She had that spark you can’t teach. The first time I heard her voice, I knew she had the tone and spirit to connect with this generation,” he said.

Produced by Young Smith, Go Low delivers a vibrant mix of crisp drums, catchy melodies and playful Afrobeats rhythms. Its dance-friendly vibe and relatable lyrics have struck a chord with young listeners. Influencers and dancers have embraced the #GoLowChallenge, driving the song’s rapid rise across social media and playlists. A Lagos-based DJ likened her appeal to the early wave of Ayra Starr, saying, “She’s got the charm, the vocals, and the playfulness that makes people pay attention.”

While flattered by comparisons to established stars, Kadoon insists she is focused on carving out her own identity.

“Music has always been my way of saying the things I can’t explain. I love that people can dance to my songs but still feel something real inside them. I just want to be Kadoon.”

The official Go Low music video, directed by Nedy Pictures, is set to premiere exclusively on Trace TV through a strategic partnership that is expected to further expand her reach.
